An Addendum to the Dunce Cap

You might have heard about all of the hubbub going on in California re: homeschool? (you can follow it all here if you're interested) As is typical of California courts, a court decision was made based on incredibly poor clerkship. So a poor write up led to a poor decision. And it's no surprise that it all took place in L.A. County. One of THE most corrupt school districts in the country. You wanna know why they REALLY care about where those kids attend school? We all know it's not about the children's best interest (because the children should be removed from the home if they are really in danger!!!) it's about money in the corrupt bureaucrats pockets as well as state control. Some whack family got caught up in the court system and it was a PERFECT opportunity to try and write new law regarding all of California parents rights to raise/educate their OWN children!!!

Perhaps I'm a bit radical... but since when is it the states right to decide HOW your children are taught and what they MUST learn? Let us provide an educational opportunity for all in this state. Let us protect kids from working in a sweatshop all day. But it's one thing to provide this opportunity versus demanding that your children MUST file through the institutionalized system so that the state has a finger on what EACH child is learning. The "compromise" that you may stay at home and be taught by a state credentialed teacher? HAH! You don't even need a credential to sub in this state-- (they are so desperate) Credentials do not give your children a better education. They insure the teacher has been properly instructed in the state management of classrooms and education.

Regulating home schoolers
A court ruling is right to examine the seemingly elitist and illiberal practice.

It's time Californians realized that there are few regulations regarding home
schooling and virtually no safeguards to make certain that subjects appropriate
to the age group are taught. On the other hand, there is a formidable cottage
industry run by conservative evangelicals that provides "suitable" materials for
home schoolers. For-profit charter schools specializing in "home schooling" --
and collecting your tax dollars while doing it -- have not only cast a cloud
over the concept of home schooling but have rankled teachers who see the state's
limited education dollars being diverted from traditional schools.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! Are you KIDDING me??? Home schoolers must be "safegaurded" against learning things outside of the state education system!!! Conservative evangelicals could not possibly provide SUITABLE materials. Especially FOR PROFIT charters?! GASP!!!! (I'd rather my money go to an administrator up front than have my money squandered by the district functionaries while the teachers and classrooms suffer.)

The most dangerous aspect of all? That parents decide not to teach the same exact curriculum that the state utilizes. How dare parents teach their children what they'd like to teach them!!!

I'm dumbfounded at the "elitist" title given to homeschoolers. hahahahahahah Oh man.. .that's rich. I just can't get over this illogical belief that the state has more right to children than parents do.

We must REGULATE! We must correct, control, monitor, standardize. It's for the better good of the people.




Hmmm... eerily similar to Nazi Germany, no??
